FAQ

FAQs

Do you offer custom built wheels?

Yes, send us an email and we’ll get you set up with the exact build you’re looking for. We prefer to use DT Swiss and Industry Nine, but Project 321, Chris King, Hope, and other hubs are also available.

Are Ride Maple Wheels "Made in the USA"?

No, and we don't hide it like many brands do.  Our rims are made specifically for us in China in the top carbon fiber rim facility in the world alongside many others.  Top brands that you already know trust this factory with their wheels too.  Every rim model is made to our spec.  To achieve our affordable pricing at this level of quality we could not have done it any other way.

Who builds the wheels?

Our wheels are assembled here in New England by only our most trusted wheel builders, many of whom work in bike shops and know everything about the bike that you're about to put these wheels on.  Axle standards, rotor types, offsets...you name it.  You won't find a better group of professionals.

Can you match the logos to my bike or team?

Yes, we offer our logos in custom colors and patterns. Check out our replacement decals in the store and then let us know what you’re looking for.

I see custom DT Swiss hub colors in some of the photos, how do it get those?

We offer custom hub logos for the DT Swiss 240 only at this time. If you’d like a set to match your wheels send us an email to add it to your order.

I’m above the weight limit, do you have anything for me?

Yes, the stock builds have weight limits, but we can accommodate heavier riders with custom builds.

Do you ship outside of the U.S.?

We can ship anywhere in the world. If you live outside the U.S. or canada please contact us and we’ll send you detailed shipping prices for the items you’d like.

What are your shipping rates?

please see shipping prices in your cart.

We will ship anywhere in the world. If you live outside the U.S. or Canada please email for pricing

Will you sponsor me?

Maybe, but first read this, this and then this. Then send us your proposal, and it better be a really good idea. but we do not provide free wheels so don’t even ask.

What’s your turn around time?

In a non-COVID/Supply Chain Disaster world we'd typically get your wheels shipped in about 7-10 days for stock builds, and a few days extra for custom orders.  Currently due to supply shortages and increased demand we are 8-12 weeks from when you place your order.

What’s the finish on the rim?

All of our rims have a satin finish on unidirectional carbon outer layer. It provides a great balance that’s not quite matte and not full gloss.

What do you use for spokes?

We use either Sapim CX-Ray or DT Swiss Aerolite spokes on all of our builds. These two spokes are equal in quality, weight, and durability and we use them interchangeably on our builds. If you have a preference, please let us know with your order.

How do I become a dealer?

Send us an email and we’ll get you set up. We have a pretty cool dealer program that is unlike most of the other brands out there.

Do you offer tires, rotors, brake pads, or cassettes with your orders?

Yes. If you’re looking for a specific setup, let us know. We can get almost anything for you.

What is the difference between Straight Pull and Classic?

At Maple, all of our stock wheels use the Classic style hub. Straight Pull hubs can be requested on custom orders. There are some limitations with Straight Pull hubs, most noticeably with lacing. Straight pull hubs require wheels to be laced in the predetermined pattern built into the flange. For example, a set of XCMs built with straight pull hubs would require a three cross pattern over our preferred two cross.
